well i took my 4 over stocked green spotted puffers to the lfs today. i kept the biggest one pickles he still seems a little on guard. i had all 5 in my 29 saltwater tank but now he just has a lawnmower blenny. thanks guys for the help and recommendation. these little buggers where like potato chips, you cant have just one.

will my phosphates go down now that i only have one left in there? i really hope this guy gets big, more snails for him at least!

his belly use to get black with yellow blotches is that bad? will the downstocking also help with the glass surfing?

yea should help. do an additional waterchange or two to get the pollutants down from the overstocking, large ones. Black tummy is not a good sign, glad you have it under control a bit more now. 30g for a gsp alone tho so would still look into upgrading

when my son is born in may we are putting him in a 55 gallon bow in the nursery. for now this will have to do. i just have phosphates in the tank now gonna get all the particles lifted with the powefilter and have at it with the gravel vac tomorrow. will this help with the phosphates?

Absolutely,get the gunk out this will defo help. Glad you are planning bigger.

Plants may also help but waterchanges are key.

i have some cheato and Caulerpa prolifera to try to help. i have otherwise pristine conditions. my live rock just looks ugly from the phos. it seems to always be a loosing battle.

You will get there. We will help. Once the residual overstocking issues are overcome it will be easy i promise.

More waterchanges will get that down. The more you change the faster it will drop. Do 50% now or asap (or multiple small if more convienient) Follow with daily 20% or so until acceptable levels are achieved. It will take no time at all just some graft. YOu will soon have a tank to be proud of

looks like ill have to be getting more salt for all of that. thanks for the advice ill at least be able to stir it up and get the filter to suck some up and rinse the filter. feeding is also naturally cut down considering there is only one mouth. i hope the powerhead current isnt to strong ill prolly only run it during the day or during the night he seems a little wobbly and hesitant to go in some places :/

Cool. Add another powerhead for counter flow, will make it a little easier for him
