don't get what all the cheese stuff was about... That guy took way too long to do this. Not sure what the tranq he used was but you don't have to keep dipping to keep it under. I published an article on this years ago.

i think snails and hard foods is a better option. this seems a little stress for me!

Once the teeth are overgrown, no amount of crunchy foods will trim them back.

how do we consider the teeth to be overgrown ?
are there different "standards" for different species ?

assuming they have not reached the stage where they have difficulty eating

Hey, in that Fahaka pic, notice how the inside of the teeth are serrated? I found the same feature in SAPS. I took a pic of that and it is here somewhere on the forum but people never believed me.

I am REALLY interesting as to why that trait evolved. I know my SAPS used to rag doll their food, like a dog on a rope. I always thought that the serrated edges helped tear the food apart for consumption, but much of the time it would get stuck there. Then I also noticed that they would rub their teeth against objects. I thought that it was part of the cleaning process.

If this is too far off topic... pls feel free to split it.

I trimed my SAPs teeth before and it was a nightmare. Really hard to clip them as you hold the fish. couldn't get the clippers in his mouth properly. I think it maybe easier to trim Dog face and Fahakas as they are bigger
