It would seem I'm back!

Well guys after a huge two year break from puffers I have returned. I took a break after I lost poor Ratchet (T. lineatus), tried my hand at s. american cichlids and did fine but just not the same. Sold the 120 and decided to get out of the fish hobby only to purchase a 40 breeder reef two months later (yeah i'm never leaving, i've been trapped). The reef did well until an unexpected power failure at which point I threw up my hands and said well that's that I'm going to back to puffers, only this time I decided to go marine. I loved the cichlids and the reef was fun to watch but nothing has personality like a puffer! I just put in an order through LA for a C. papua who should arrive tuesday morning along with some of his future tankmates. Currently the only thing in the tank are some yellow polpys and gigantic around 4inch cleaner shrimp. I have hopes that the cleaner shrimp does not meet his doom but I will not be surprised. The cleaner shrimp did routinely kick the butt of a 5 inch melannurs wrasse that didn't know enough to steer clear of him so we'll see. I'd like to add some more soft corals and mushrooms but that will be dependent on his future highness since I decided the tank was his. Any way thought I'd drop in and wave, hope to see some familiar faces...errrrm screen names etc. lol

BTW those of you who do remember me, Oliver the work figure 8 puffer is still going strong and going on three years old even after we mutually scarred each other during a teeth trimming a year ago. He has the entire building at his command and even though I don't work there anymore I still show up twice a month to check on him and give his tank a nice cleaning. He still shares his 20gallon with the chineese algae eater who for some reason is still kicking despite the water being a pleasant 1.005 sg

I've got a Papuan toby in a 40 gallon breeder, too. I think your 4 inch cleaner shrimp will be okay, as tobies have small (but strong!) mouths. He might pick on the shrimp a little bit but if the shrimp can hold his own he should learn quickly. My Papuan has always gotten along well with other fish. I have her in with a Bullet Goby.

Welcome back! Wow it has been 2 years already? Not that we didn't notice your absence, but time sure flies!
