Fahaka eating pellets?

Hello all,

I'm new here and planning on doing an introductory post with my baby Fahaka, Punch, once I get him out of quarantine* and into his own tank later this week. I just had a simple feeding question:

I have some sense of the usual diet these guys need (including the shelled things--I'm farming snails for him as a younger puffer), but is it a problem (or good thing?) for him to eat pellets as well?

I was feeding my other fish, and one of the New Life Spectrum large fish formula pellets floated over to his enclosure. He really liked it. Is this a problem? Obviously I don't have to feed them to him when he's in his own private tank.

Thanks!

*not really strict quarantine. He's in a little enclosure inside my larger tank so that he can't destroy my other fish--2'' terror that he is.

It's OK as an addition to a more natural diet of crustaceans. He may have just been eating them because the other fish were, although I never saw mine eating them, even though his tank mates did.

Sure, a few won't hurt him, as long as it's not a steady diet. New Life Spectrum does make excellent foods; they're my favorite brand.
