From brackist to fw....need to cycle again?

I'm going to be converting my brackish tank(1.003)back to fw. Will it go through another cycle?

Ar specific gravity 1.003-1.005 the nitrification bacteria are still FW forms.

You'll probably want to do it in two stages over a few weeks to prevent a partial dieoff.

i`ve done 2 50% water changes since sunday and the sg is still showing approx 1.002. Should i rinse the filter media?

Don't bother, that bacteria's been through enough.. Check your hydrometer against your tap water.

if the bacteria is still fw form at an sg of 1.003, why would it get affected?

What we've been stating is it will not be killed. Doesn't mean they won't get stressed. Stress can kill. Rinsing out the bacteria in your filter media is not a good thing to do at the moment.
