Indra not eating like he did.

Hey all,
So over the last couple days i noticed that my redtail redeye has not been eating like usual. I had rearranged his tank a bit but he seemed fine until yesterday and today. He ate a little bit of blood worms but not enough to fatten his belly and today he pretty much ignored them. He's swimming around ok and seems otherwise fine. Belly is white to cream color as is normal with these guys.
RED QUESTIONS:
pH is 6.5-7.0
Ammonia 0
nitrite is 0
nitrate is less than 20ppm
10g tank with just him and 1 snail (not sure how its still alive...lol) and 3 plants (2x java fern and one anubias)
i feed frozen blood worms once a day , 50% WC once a week, only thing we used recently are ammonia tabs
changes are listed as above moving some things, added a greek column deco and 2 java ferns.
been up for about 3 weeks. we used old filter media and some pond start (similar to Prime)
Just worried, he had a great appitie when i got him and now hes well just not really caring, he seems skinny and I am scared for him.
Thanks for looking,
Dave

He could be pissed that you changed his home without his written permission. What are ammonia tabs? If it's a crappy rid ammonia product do not use, why would you use it if no amm is present. Or perhaps he is just well fed and still full

lol yeah i forgot to ask him :/ Yes they are ammonia removal tabs but they also dechloranate we use them after water changes. His beelly is flat and not round like usuall. and he seems to be kinda bumbling around not really contorlling his movements as well as before. Yesterday he litteraly shot across the tank at like 50mph. First time he did that.

Use prime to dechlorinate. Discontinue tabs. Have you treated for ip's yet? Try soaking food with a fresh clove of crushed garlic.

Yea add the garlic to hot water allow to cool, add food and soak for 30 mins, this makes anything irresistible. I do this with peas, boy do they go for it

You may be overfeeding. I suggest feeding daily for 6 & skipping one for fasting. Are you only offering one kind of food?

Currently he has frozen bloodworms, a few tiny pieces of freeze dried shrimp and a couple snails, but usually its just the bloodworms.

Well after a ver drastic 75% water change and some Safe Zyme this morning at 7:20am Indra ate again

He seems much happier, water looks tons better and hes swimming around hunting like normal. Thanks all for the advice!

Water changes are great for most things

I think a lot of hobbyists miss out on that point and when they see a sick fish I often read that they do a 20% water change... Not enough.

Don't waste your $$$ on whatever this Safe Zyme product is. Use Prime for dechlorinating. If WC are making him feel better, then you're not doing enough of them or the tank wasn't cycled properly.
