Added new plants and a new filter....pic

I'm trying out what plants can coexist with these puffers. Going to be adding more soon.
I also added an Ac 70 to go along my Ac 30,both with foam and filled to the top with biomax.
I have about 17 times the turnover,lol!! Can't say I don't have enough filtration!!!

IMO, there's nothing much to filter from the water column.. most of their waste are at the sand bed. The filtration adds to the water flow and the bacterial in it removes the ammonia and no2. Bacterial to breakdown No3 usually does not exist in normal biomedia and can only be removed by WC. But, its still good to have!!

If the flow is good enough, the waste will be sucked up into the filter. Plenty of waste in mine!

i can add an extension to the intake,this way it'll be closer to the sand bed!

Just don't go too low or you run the risk of clogging your filter with sand particles. I would say you are probably good as you are
