drip acclimation process

I am very interested in adding a dragon goby to my freshwater, and my LFS (thatpetplace.com) has them instock, but kept in brackish. I know they can survive and thrive well in fresh and would like to give it a shot. I watched a quick video on using this process for saltwater fish, but I belive they rushed it along, in 2 hours? I thought if you were going from salt, to no salt, or visa versa it needed to be about 8 hours or so.
Any advice?

Actually, they do not do well, not do they thrive in FW. They are BW fish.
