I might be mistaken but we were at the local walmart the other day and I think I saw this by their fish stuff while wasting time waiting for the wife. It didn't seem like anything I wanted to try though.

Somehow or another, products aimed at insufficiently and or improperly stocked and maintained tanks have little or no interest for me. That especially applies when they do not publish before and after water parameters.
Stock and feed properly, maintain wisely and properly, and you may just discover that fish tanks are not at all hard to maintain. If you need post-disaster clean-up techniques, you have not set or operated your tank properly. Correct the original problem, not just the results of the initial error.
FWIW

The things I call post-disaster products are used to treat symptoms, not to correct the underlying issues with set up and maintenance.
The "real" issue should be: Why did the filter/tank/gravel/live plants and decor become coated with algae and organic crud? Correct the problem, not just the symptoms. If the underlying issues are not corrected, the same or other issues will recur. If the set up is stocked and maintained well, those symptoms just do not occur.
Why is that so difficult to understand?

I don't think it's difficult to understand at all, I think a lot of people don't want to stock minimally/appropriately, and/or they don't want to perform the weekly standard maintenance required. We have a fairly large amount of stubborn, selfish, and lazy people in the hobby.

The reason I keep going back to this is because my new GF tank is covered in long hair algae! Every week I pull it out & by the end of the week, there's barely enough room for the poor fella to swim around. I feed him chopped broccoli, green beans & carrots & he is soooo messy. Gets stuck under decor, up into the filter, etc. Got 6 cories to help with the maintenance but alas, they're not getting to it all.

that and prevention... the "if I do this, then I can do that.." scenario...
having said that... science is always advancing and what we can keep now isn't what we once could. These little advances may allow is to keep more delicate fish that once were not available to us or to people in unique situations.
I have no idea if these things work. But hell if they are willing to ship some tanks, filters and livestock for free I'll test them out

That sucks... my old GF ate any and all aquatic plant life. I am surprised yours doesn't also. Then again I also had a koi in there too... go koi!!!
