have an f8 puffer in a cichlid tank, fed the puffer shrimp on the shell, but other fishes went after the shrimp as well... all fighting over it. A few mins after feeding I noticed something wrong with my electric yellow, it just kind of stopped at the bottom and sank there... not able to move... and then fell over... flat on its side. This fish was fighting with the puffer for the food about 5 mins ago, so I was thinking it bit the puffer and got poisoned. I can't explain any other way it could be sick so fast
At first the fish only moved a few of its fins slightly in an uncoordinated and weak fashion, then it was able to move more of its body and swim, but with no balance (doing back flips), and now it looks pretty much all better and able to swim around, but it's hiding in a cave.
I was wondering if there are any good procedures/medicine for treatment of poisoned fish? I never thought my yellow lab would attack the puffer since it's normally a very peaceful fish

F8 are brackish fish. They require 1.005 salinity.

I do not know about the poisoning though.

Yup, that's the problems w/keeping puffers w/other fish. Sorry for the loss of your fish. I suggest keeping your puffer in a species only, BW tank.
