1. PH: 8, Ammonia: 0ppm, Nitrites: 0ppm, Nitrates: ~5 ppm

2. 60 gallons, 2 left clawed hermits, two turbos, 2 emerald crabs, 4 nerites, 1 green spotted puffer

3. Just fed her a few blood worms, only got her on Wed. afternoon. 1.022 SG SW tank, 91 lbs of LR with RO water, nothing else added

4. Only changes was adding Yoshi to the tank...haven't been home since Wednesday afternoon. Kept the lights off because we weren't going to be home and I didn't want to mess with the lights while we were gone, wasn't' sure if that was ok for tank inhabitants.

5. 4 weeks since set up, all LR was put in with mixed RO water and was inhabitant less for 2 weeks, then I got the 2 hermits, e crabs, one week after that brought home snails, and then week after that I brought Yoshi home.

So I brought Yoshi home on Wednesday. Her color looked ok, but she was a little grey. I attributed that to the stress she went thru coming home, because when I put her in her tank, she lightened up. Unfortunately, I had to leave about 20 minutes after we put her in, so I turned off the lights, left only blue LEDs on, closed up the house and left. We got home just a few minutes ago, and when I turned on the lights, she was really grey, not on her belly, but her sides and tail...the only vibrant green you could see was on top of her head. She has now lightened up a bit, but she still is grey to me. I fed her some bloodworms, since every one else in the tank is alive, and she ate them just fine. She is swimming, pacing, but still darker than normal. We do not have a protein skimmer as of yet, it's on its way. I have pictures uploading as we speak, so as soon as we are done, I will link them to you. Any thoughts or ideas or comments are greatly appreciated, as I don't want her to be unhappy, and if she is, I need to fix it asap. Thank you

It could be stress. Hopefully nothing more. It's early days so try not to panic too much

Thanks, I am trying. LoL, just been waiting a long time for her, and I am a worrier. I am trying, it was just a shocker to come home and see her almost completely grey. She is loving the swimming room though. I think I will feel better once I get a protein skimmer on there.

just my opinion but i'd say its a combo of the change in the lights after being dim for a few days and the extra commotion around the tank. hopefully anyway. im sure it will be fine by tomorrow.

Just had a good look at the photos and he looks fine, just a wee bit stressed. Get the lighting routine sorted tho. You done everything right on the set up so stop giving yourself a hard time, all will be fine

I wish you could see her =( she's pacing in the corner closest to me and she's still grey. The spot on her head that is normal color, is a vibrant green, so I know she will be beautiful once she adjusts (if that is all it is). I just wish I came home to a happy little green Yoshi to begin with ><

LoL on a side note, you should have seen Luau. He was royally po'd at me and he let me know it. Wouldn't even come out for blood worms or snails.

Pacing can also be stress related

She looks normal, and the behavior sounds normal. Give her time to adjust. GSP's do pace when stressed or bored.

Skimmer will be here in t-minus 4 days. I can't wait!! It will suck because she will stress out again, but hopefully with a skimmer and a decent sized water change, when everything settles down, she will be her vibrant green =)

Just so you know, yes a skimmer is important, but thee are a lot of people who run marine tanks indefinitely without skimmers. Not that I'm saying that it isn't great to have, but don't expect to it to effect your puffer's coloring. It may not even produce skimmate right away.
The only thing you will be able to notice different with a skimmer, is that gross smelly junk will collect in it, it's nothing you can test for.

Also, I've noticed some GSP's are a duller yellow with a neon halo, while others are a brighter green/yellow all over. There could be many reasons for this, one being possible sub species differences, and another being lighting. What is the Kelvin ratng of your bulbs?
