Either my 10g tank is taking forever to cycle or it's cycled but my
Filter can't handle the bio load. It's an Ac 20.
I check all the params and they're fine one day and the next I get a nitrite spike.

What is the livestock in your 10 gallon?

how did you cycle it and how long ago did you start cycling??

1 F8 and it was an established ce tank before but I increased th SG to quick (1.008). I dropped the SG to 1.002 2 days later and have kept it there since. It looks like its almost done cycling cause I'm getting little to no ammo but higher nitrite readings(.5) . So I did a 50% Ac and everything is at 0 now.
I also skipped feeding today... I'll feed him tomorrow afternoon.

I thought this was quite a recent tank crash? They can take a while to complete the cycle

You're probably going to have to keep at the 50% water changes. Your tank is overstocked right now, because you need a minimum of 15 gallons for your F8. I'd recommend you get some Tetra Safestart to help the cycle the rest of the way.

I'm picking up a 15g on the weekend and I'll be running 2 Ac 20s. That should resolve the issue.

Change of plans. I'm getting a 25g and will be running an ac 20 and 50.

I just bought a 30g witch will house 2 F8s.
As for filtration I'm using an AC 20 and a AC 30.
Hopefully this will take care of the water param issues I'm having.
