Okay, so I was wondering what is the recipe for homemade liverock and what works best for giving it the little holes? I have read that spaghetti noodles work since you can eventually get them out by soaking, but I would like a process on how to do it all.

Also, does it work just as good as real live rock?

There are some on youtube.

Add rock salt to your cement mix to make it porous. The salt dissolves during curing and leaves holes.

I just bought everything to make about 120lbs of LR. The grand total was only $41!!!!! Maybe I'll start a new thread with my progress. I think we're gonna start tomorrow.

I always thought it was a brilliant idea. It can look so natural too, and very pretty once covered in the coraline algae.
