Breeding Pond Snails!

Hello! We are new to owning a gsp. We have decided to start breeding our own supply of pond snails due to the lack of availability from local stores. I managed to find about 15 of them and we have them in a cycled, 10 gallon freshwater tank that is heated to 78 degrees. Does anyone have any tips on getting them to breed? I plan on feeding them vegetation and algae wafers. How long will it take and how many should I have to keep a readily stable supply available? We have 2 gsps about 1.5" each. Thanks!

LoL just add food and water and wait. Hopefully the 10g is a snail only tank, because they breed best with snails only (I learned that the hard way LoL). I have had the tank set up for a while, and my population is now just starting to explode. Give it a couple days, and you should start seeing the egg sacks

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Do you think that if I put baby mollies or swordtails in the snail tank than it would be a problem?

Snail breeders should be kept as just that. Putting things in will cause issues one way or the other

I managed to breed thousands in a basic set up of a tub, with a plant, cuttle fish bone and lettuce. No filter, no heater necessary.

Snails do breed faster with heat. Feed them a little extra than you normally would. You're also going to most likely want to keep the tank bare bottom because they're really messy to clean up after. Remember to still do water changes for them.
I would also recommend buying some Ramshorn snails off of aquabid.
