Hey just thought id ask before i bought.... every single bag of raw unseasoned shrimp or anything i found at the grocery today also had i think it was sodium phosphate in it, or some sort of salt. and the sodium was in the 20% range in all of the recommended daily value charts on the back. just wondering if thats regular??? i assumed no as that isnt JUST raw shrimp. but the front clearly stated UNCOOKED UNSEASONED DE-VEINED (?) SHRIMP. ....... ??? sorry for all of the stupid questions recently.

No stupid questions here! LoL Even though I don't know the answer, I learn just as much as you when someone who does posts it :)

I wonder if there's residual salt because they were caught in saltwater, and maybe they have to count that? If it says unseasoned, I'd think there wouldn't be ADDED salt. But I'm not sure about the labeling laws.

Your best bet is probably the meat/seafood counter at your local market. You can buy shell-on raw shrimp there, although it may cost a little more than the shrimp-in-a-bag.
