Fahaka puffing up

Hi I was wondering if any fahaka puffer keepers no if fahakas actually puff up?? And if they have seen this I have not tried or want to make him puff up in any way at all I no the damage it can cause jus wondering or if not has anyone been successful in finding any pictures of them in that state?

I've seen my GSP do it for no apparent reason other than to try it. He is still a juvinile though.

All puffers can and will puff if scared. Some will do it just because. My fahaka never has nor has my abei. But I have watched my GSP do it for no reason

ive never seen figgy do it either... i wonder if some puffers just dont realize they can do it lol
speaking of figgy, anyone have any pics of f8s puffed up?

No I thought I caught mine do it the other day but wasn't sure wen he swam away his bum jus looked big but hadn't fed him long before

All puffers do "practice" puffing, especially when young and growing. Adults do so much less often. It is not often seen, as we don't sit and watch our tanks 24/7. It people are visible, they are less likely to practice puff - they are usually more interested in the possibility of food from humans that in testing their own equipment. It is full normal behavior.

I walked in on Ares puffed one time...it scared the walrus out of me!!!! It was before his lights came on. Manson puffs ALL THE TIME. I can't figure out why. His params are good, he is healthy and there is no reason for him to be stressed...he is really weird. He seems to have an angry attitude problem and only seems happy when he bubbles his butt on his airstone...he is VERY strange!

he knew he couldnt fit food in there with all the water! lol
