mbu and plants and being wierd and not eating

so once in a while i try putting a large plant in my tank with my mbu . then he does not eat. i take them out then he is back to normal . does anyone have this problem with mbu stressing out about whats in the tank ??

He will probably get used to it after a while. Puffers don't like change, they get grumpy

Don't stress too much, yet, no. You can try earthworms, though. Must puffers can't resist them. You may have to cut them up so your puffer can smell it though

i also left town for 7 days but had a friend feed him 3 times while i was gone. when i can back he was laying on the bottom being sluggish and not eating . now that i have been home for 5 days he has not eatin

Well, is the plant still what is making him moody? Perhaps he is constipated. Get regular Epsom salt, and treat 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons.

Epsom salt for a 180g how much would that be . that would be alot ? how long can Epsom salt stay in a tank

Add as per instructions it will be removed with your waterchanges over time. Try earthworms and give a couple more days. If all else fails take out the plant and try small plants which will grow big over time

It would be 36 tablespoons of Epsom salt. How big is your Mbu?
