Where's a good place to buy Ramshorn online? I've been checking Aquabid, but was wanting to check around for better pricing.

I got them for free at a local petstore as well. Only 3, but mostly because they have them in a tank/terrarium with some guppies and a lizard. and a lot of dense plantlife. Hard to find but if you spend some money on other things they don't mind spending a bit longer digging through everything to find a few.

I asked my LFS (not petco) if they sold or could get Ramshorn snails and i was told they couldn't anymore because they were banned from import/export because of some disease that could wipe out local wildlife if they were released into the local streams/rivers. Not sure exactly how true that is since people are still selling them EVERYWHERE, but i know that place can't get any for me. I may just have to buy a big batch from Ebay or Aquabid.

In Sweden I can't get a hold of crayfish because of them carrying parasites and what not. Only local species are allowed. I still want to try and import Orange Dwarf Crayfish from Germany though to see if they arrive, but not until my GSP is bigger and not afraid of larger sized critters.

I just got myself a huge crop of ramshorns. I put an add on kijiji (craiglist) and ask if anyone had any they would sell. A man had a large amount that were over running his aquariums gave me probably 100 for free. I have them set up in a 10 G now. There are already eggs everywhere!

Nice! I only have 3 but for the first time they are all together in a corner on top and around each other, keeping my fingers crossed that they are having a good time

. I want some babies.

LoL +1 I am hoping mine do the same. Now that the shrimp are out of the tank >< had to go to 1 out of the 3 Petsmarts that I visit, because only ever one of them have the "pest" snails at one time. He gave me several and was like "these are mystery snails that I don't know what they are (duh? LOL) and do you want them?" Haha, so I said yes. Now they need to all start breeding!!

I have found at least 2 egg sacks on the glass today. I am undecided about 2-3 other spots. Guess I'll have to wait a few days to see if its just airbubbles or not.

Went to PetCo today and got 6 free Ramshorn out of a couple of random tanks. Hoping they start doing adult things soon!

I'm pretty sure your LFS was talking about the columbian ramshorn, those get up to around 3" diameter, and have been banned here for a long time. One of my lfs actually calls the common ramshorns "pond snails" even though they are clearly common ramshorns.
