Just that folks i want to know how many time takes for a GSP and a Bursa Trigerfish to get 6" in adequate rates of parameters, care and feeding.

The build of the new tank will take at least a year, i had some familiar issues i have to solve first, and that will take away a lot of bucks
So i want to know how long my puffers could live in the 40g
They are about 3" now... and talking about the Bursa Trigerfish, he was bought by a cousin and he wants to give to me cuz the fish is bulling some clown fish.... its kind of smaller, 2"...

how long could be this 3 fish (if its possible) in a 40g?

I would advise a much bigger tank. In a 40 you will have aggresion issues with that mix and will most likely end up with a dead trigger and a fat puffer. Are you wanting to house 2 gsp in there? If so ffar too small

I think with those 3 the water would be very hard to keep clean. That is a HUGE bioload for a small tank

Getting rid of one is advisable and getting rid of two would be ideal. At their current size the tank is tolerable, but by no means is it a recommended or suitable permanent setup for them.

What are the dimensions of the forty? If it is a breeder tank, this might give you a little more time to figure out what to do.

As far as your question, at their current size, I would only put two of those fish in a tank that size.

In that tank the fish will never grow up. You will not be able to control the tank adequately.

One GSP alone could be kept in the tank.

I had a huge project (245Gal) that is stand by... but i want to get a 90G i saw in a Local Store...
so i wanted to know how long could "coexist" this 3 fish as long as i get the 90G...

if you recommend me 0 days, or inadequate mix for short time terms, i won't accept the bursa at least until i get the 90´s u_U

There is always the chance of the puffer trying to eat the fish. You gotta consider how they'd get along, too. I am not too sure on spacing though, someone should tell you that shortly.

i don't fear on the safety of the fish... this puffers have been with me for almost 4 years together and with a lot of different fish, long fined, slow and fast movers... and never attacked them... they only attack a host shrimp long ago...

I believe they´re quiet, not aggressive at all... still young, i know, but i strongly believe that that will not bother a Bursa Trigger fish, cuz this fish are hard also... danger will be always possible, but thats with all puffers...

i will convince my cousin to wait on the bursa while i buy a 90G... i don't want surprises on the 40g.. there will be no much space

Neither puffers nor triggers are "gentle" fish. If you have had puffers in too small tanks for 4 years - and with other fish at that - they are likely to be seriously and likely permanently stunted. Their lives will never be long under such conditions.

So, 40 Gallons is not enough for two 3" GSP?

When they where 1" and a little bit more they share the tank with 2 knight gobies, then the gobies moved, an then shared the tank with 4 baby Poecilia Velifera, a month ago P.velifera moved.

They are 3" now, and have the 40 gallons tank for them selves, anyway, they will be moved to a 90Gallon...

If triggers, are not compatible tank mates on the 90gal, i will try some wrase or some thing else, i know, danger will be always there...

I personally don't even think it's enough for 1. I have 1 in 30 gallons and I am really wondering if he is happy. It might just be that I happen to have a GSP that just needs more space to be happy though, of that I am unsure.

90 gallons will be fine. However i would just keep them there, also have a backup plan incase they decide they do not want to live together, you only have a 50 50 chance whether they will or not

Yes, i also believe 40g isn't enough, thats why i will buy that 90´s...
oh bertie, you step right where it hurts hahahaha i pray every morning believing that they´ll like each other, like they have been doing until now....even so, there will be always that a 40g in case they get aggressive, i hope not ñ_ñ

I think that you should pass all together on the Bursa Triggerfish. This is a fish already known to be a bully, and a 90 gallon tank is minimum for the 3 puffers that you have. You have had these fish for years, don't risk their safety by putting some fish in your cousin doesn't want. Just have him return the fish to the store.
