New Generation of Crayfish

So i bought 4 marbled crayfish on aquabid for $20 about 2-3 months ago. About two weeks ago i noticed that I could never find them inside their tank. When I finally found them, i saw that one or two of them had a large cluster of black eggs underneath the tail. Today, when looking at the the tank, I noticed a bunch of tiny newborne crayfish, probably about 50 or so of them. I know at one point, I counted 15 inside one pvc pipe. Needles to say, I am excited about the the new generation and successful breeding. I look forward to their growth and reproduction in order to feed my four GSP in a cost-friendly way.

Thanks. I was really surprised to see them reproduce so quickly since they are still not even that big themselves. But compared to the babies, they are HUGE. I suppose I need to be extremely careful with water changes. I probably wouldn't even notice if I sucked one up.

Just use a flashlight to inspect your water changing bucket. I have to do it for my molly fry.

Cucumber, carrots and algae wafers. I lost the mama cray the other day , looks like she couldnt molt properly. I have to wait for my other 3 adults to berry for more babies. Its amazing how easy they are to take care of . lol

It happens. For some reason, they don't always molt properly. I've only had it happen to the large adults (3-4"). It seems like they get halfway through the molt and their body splits. Pretty weird. Maybe it's the way they die of old age... Make sure you feed them to your puffer before they get to that point!

How big do they get? Could they fit in half a 30 gallon sump if I made sure to block off the pump from them?
