Hi everybody, Ijust have a quick question? My brackish tank which houses my adult GSP currently stays stable at a ph of 8. I was thinking of purchasing seachems marine buffer to try and maintain it at 8.3 and make it a little more marine-like? According to the pufferpedia on GSP's it claims the end of the highrange is 8.3? Don't adult GSP excel in full-on marine aquariums? Im sure many marine aquariums with coral might have even higher PH than 8.3. Should I stay at 8 or try for a little higher PH. Is the pufferpedia just playing safe as far as PH goes and can GSP's still be perfectly fine in higher PH's?

I would leave it as it is. Stable ph is far more important than a couple of decimal points imo

Do not add commercial buffers to your tank, they can fail your natural balance. A pH of 8.0 is perfectly fine, and since fish do not have an ability to register external pH, your GSP won't mind.
What is your current SG and the size of your puffer? When you reach full marine SG, your pH will follow in suit. There is no reason to skip a step.

+2 stable is better

Commercial buffers can cause a up and down effect and get out of control in a hurry. Fish can easily adapt to a pH that is a little off vs trying to keep up with a roller coastering pH. I wouldn't do it.

Nothing even a little off with a pH of 8 for a GSP. As you add more salt to make it closer to marine, the pH will rise.

gravity hovers around 1.015 give or take a little depending on water changes... and Gaby is about 3 inches and 5 years old....
