Bloodworms Beware

I have a GSP and I have had it for 7 months now. I have been feeding it Sally's Company bloodworms and recently it gave my GSP an IP. I immediately started giving it IP medication and about 2 weeks later he is now bright as usual and not lethargic, I am now using the brand Hikari, it is a parasite free bloodworm company. Moral of the story, don't buy anything that doesn't say parasite free.

pretty sure that most foods that have been frozen for more than a few days are IP safe.
your GSP may have been carrying the IPs since before you got it, as symptoms may not show up right away.
not to imply that this is the case with your fish, but anything that compromises a fishes (or nearly anything else for that matter) health may cause pre-existing or underlying issues to surface.
these could include water parameter issues, sudden temperature change, poor nutrition, etc.
