Ive got an extra filter layin around that leaks from the motor. I cleaned the hell out of the thing and it still leaks like crazy. Checked the Oring and it looks fine, so I was wondering if it would be ok if I added some plumbers tape to help stop the leak?

That could work as long as the tape doesn't interfere with the motor mounting to the shell. I would just e-mail the company and get a new o-ring. Something to try is a little unscented petroleum jelly on the o-ring, that should be done every once in a while to keep the ring supple and give it a better seal.
