Hey all, I moved my figure eights out of the GSP tank about two weeks ago, and since then, the GSPs only sit on the bottom and are very pale with dark bellies. I am not sure why they have changed their behavior, they used to swim circles around eachother as they swam up and down the glass, but now, nothing. Maybe once a day I will even see them come out of hiding. They don't even come out when I feed them. The scat in the tank acts the same as always. Any ideas? I am considering putting one of the figure eights back with them to see if this affects their behavior if I cannot find another solution. They were at 1.005 when I moved their friends out, I did not change that until yesterday when I started to bump it up for them, so that is not part of the problem. The tank is crystal clear and all params are perfect. I am puzzled. I tried rearranging their tank, but this made no difference for them, either. I am not sure what the problem is. Any insight would be great!

Seems like your GSP's are either bored or depressed possibly. How many GSP's are in there?? Once I think of it, moving out some inhabitants may strike the GSP as if he were moved from one tank to another. I would give him a few days to perk up.

I figured they might be upset with the change, but after two weeks it seems like they should be over it by now. BTW there are 2 GSPs, one is 2 1/2 inches the other is 1 1/2 inches.

How long were the puffs together?

The biggest one was together with the 8s for a year, the other 8 months about.

Maybe the problem (after re-reading your first post) is that they don't like the higher salinity.
