Hey i got my ocelleate puffer about a week ago and in my tank i have him and a snail and two swordtail platties. I feed them dry bloodworms and it just seems like he doesnt like them. What do I feed him?????? please helpp!!

What kind of puffer is it? Is it a Takifugu Ocellatus? That's a brackish/marine fish if so: ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Marine/T_Ocellatus/

Dried anything isn't going to be proper feed for him. There are feeding articles in the Puffer Library, under the Learn tab.


Here are a few more tips for feeding:
You can get some non-seasoned, uncooked seafood from a grocery store, like mussels, shrimp, squid etc. I also like to include tilapia and red wriggler worms, (available in bait shops or the bait section at Wal-mart) to offer some thiaminase (An enzyme that inhibits the body's ability to uptake b1) free/low food sources. If the seafood is fresh, freeze it first, and thaw/ soak the food in a bit of tank water (Don't use straight tap) with the addition of vitamins, such as vitachem and Selcon to make sure they are getting balanced nutrition, as freezing does break some of the nutritional value, but it is important to freeze to kill bacteria and or parasites.

The feeding information is basically universal. I'm not entirely sure what kind of puffer that is.

well when i bought him he was called an ocellate puffer he's about 2inch now and will get to be about 4inch

Few puffers stay that small lol. I agree completely about not ever feeding anything dried. The feedingt article in the library is great. Welcome to the forum!
