Well, as soon as i get my new home i´ll instal a 280Gal aquaria for some fish... anyway i´ll be glad if you help me to do the shopping list

Fist i want to start with fish... and i´ve a loooot of questions about the fish combinations...
Basically i have 2 GSP, small yet.. so we have time.

Fist Of all i wonder if i can keep the next species in this big tank:

1 Lactoria Cronuta
2 Tetraodon Nigrivirids
6 Scatophagus Tetracanthus
15 Monodactylus sebae

¿Could it be possible?
¿Yes? so, we can pass to another sub in the shopping list
¿No? whyyyy???
¿Needed to be full marine of could it be 1.022?
¿Some seagrass or another algae to plant the substrate?
Also anything i should be warn about

So glad you asked... I can't begin to tell you what a BAD combo this is! Cowfish should be kept in species only tank, where they are the main focus of the tank with absolutely no stress or aggressive fish chasing or picking on them. Scats are the garbage cans of the BW world--as messy as goldfish & oscars--and put a TON of mess/waste/bioload into the tank. Not a healthy environment for a puffer. Monos grow the size of your outstretched hand, requiring at least 50g ea.

Your SG estimate is correct.

How about a clownfish and maybe an appropriate type of wrasse? They are beautiful and fast. It depends on what your puffers will allow. They may at anytime murder in the night.

I agree that the fish you proposed are very far from ideal, so yes it's great that you asked.

Seaweed/marine plants/macroalgae can be kept although there are potential problems. I'd suggest reading up on them. A few are toxic, some will over run your tank and require regular trimming, some need specific lighting and element/mineral levels, and the fish may eat them. But some do very well if you meet their needs and the fish don't destroy them.

So now i know my original list was a recipe for chaos hahaha

Well i wonder if you could help me to make a non self destructive list hahaha considering that 2 GP are the main character on the tank...

About the plant, is Ruppia Maritima, a very common plant in my country is like seagrass literally... looks like sagitaria on FW, but this is a plant that lives on mangrove swamps or delta rivers in high concentrations of salt, not marine but 1.022 (HIgh Density BW)

so ¿what fish could be with the GSP in 270Gal?

Maybe certain wrasses?

Any other fish in there will always have the potential to become food, or just toys to be shredded. You have a better chance with such a large tank, but the risk will always be there. My GSP is among the most aggressive of my puffers.

i watch some wrasses, they have beautiful colors!
do you think that even in a 270 there will be problems??

I,ve watch some aquaria with large monodacylus (sebae&argenteus) and looks nice... but could it be?
These 2 GSP are actually the most Kind of the puffers i had, they have been sharing home since they were babies, with bumble bee gobies, P.velifera and P.spenophs, and another fish that they never at attacked.

Even though, i also Kept a Abei puffer... and it was a mean machine, no fish could live with him...
So i don't think my GSP will become very aggressive ¿or should i be warn about it? hehehe

Each puffer has the chance of growing grumpy with age. Some puffers are gentle and timid, some are murderers. The thing t to keep in mind is that their temperament can change, doesn't mean it will, but it can. Just remember, any fish you put in could get killed within minutes, or years later, or it could always be ok.

If your puffers are gentle, I wouldn't get anything aggresive our they'll get bullied. But, you don't want to get something that can't defend itself either.

I'm not sure how much fact is in this, but I've noticed that some fish don't like other fish that look similar to them, but will seemingly enjoy the company of fish shaped differently than them. This isn't a standard, but I've heard stories that follow that.

I would say that even in that size, you could have problems down the road, especially if you end up with 2 males. The risk is always there with most puffers.

I've noticed some of my puffers react a lot to the color red, funny enough. I had a dog shampoo bottle next to my tanks, and my SAPs and Fahaka were all trying to destroy it through the glass. I wish I had gotten the SAPs on video as it was quite entertaining.

Keep in mind--every single wrasse I've ever kept has jumped. You MUST have a secure lid on that tank!

PP, wrasses jump? hehe thats hilarious! but i can´t put a Lid on a 230 cm tank hahaha its a very big lid...

Ooops now that you say it, Reaperpilot... male puffers don't like each others... thats the biggest risk... ¿but even in 270G? could aggression be less, I'm can, Thats a lot of space, but i know, that with puffers we´re never sure....
Even though my puffers body looks very different from one to another, they are the same age but quite different body shapes... one is bigger and hardy, and the other is slim, elegant and is the leader... They both have always eat the same amount of food... thats why i believe i have a boy & girl...

Anyway it is just a theory...

Some news, today i´ve seen 6 Neovespicula Depressifrons... they looks like a nice secondary fish for my tank... ¿what do you think? adults reach 6" and are hard fishes, no soft and not helpless....
Some friend recommend me 4 Toxotes Microlepis, but i´m not sure...

By the way... red color is kind of bad for puffers, when i wear red they run away like if i where a Fuc... ghost! hehehe

I would say it's always a risk.

There is always a risk with puffers. I believe it is always safer to be cautious
