My tugidus has commiited suicide on the glass top of the tank while I was at work! :29:
She had an infection on the eye that was seeming to get better overnight. I did a 50% water change and cleaning just last night, and the water tested at <.25 ppm ammonia just now. A friend of mine said te fish went crazy and slammed in the top of the tank just 30 mins ago. I found her on her side on the bottom of the tank. It seems she is still breathing but it would take a miracle for her to not die. She is completly unconcious.

Oh god she is dead, I cant believe this!
I buried her outside my window. I have taken some autopsy pictures to hopefully figure out what this was. (no cutting)

Sorry for your loss.
I wonder if this happens more often when deaths seem very sudden. If your friend wasn't there to see the accident, you'd never know.

My SA's sometimes crazily swim and "jump" and hit the top of the glass of the aquarium top. I think in my case it is because of the raised temps and Ich meds, or the Ich on their skin. I hope mine don't die because of this behavior. I am sorry to hear about your loss Perek.

Yea I just got back from the pet store they said my water quality was "Perfect". So the jumping behaviour remains a mystery.

The heater was set at ~80 degrees. I came to this temp by starting at 75 and upping the temp slowly till she would stop hanging by the heater.

So sorry to hear that, Perek. I wonder if it was a convulsion or something similar. Very sad.
Pami.
