Hey Guys
Is it ok to breed Marble Crayfish and snails in the same tank?
Would the snails eat the crayfishs eggs and visa versa?
What size tank would you recommend to breed both these animals?
Thanks

Need two tanks.
Snails wont be able to eat the cray eggs since they are attached to the mom. But the crays WILL eat all the snail eggs.
You can use a 20g for the marbleds and just about anything for the snails

Thx Mate
Would 5 Marbles be enough?
I've been told that the Marbles I'm getting are roughly 1inch long. What age/size do they start to breed?

ive noticed mine started showing eggs at about 1.5 inchs.
I started with 3. Hell you can start with 1 thats whats nice about them lol. BUt if you start with 5 you will build a big colony quickly.
I keep mine in a 55 so I can have plenty of room for them all.

Is it best to get moss balls for them rather than other plants?

Crays are, to put it mildly, opportunistic feeders. If it is edible, eventually they will eat it.

I agree. Mine are kept with MTS (they bury themselves and have shells that the krebs can't break) and ghost shrimp. They're too quick for the krebs, but occasionally one will get caught and become lunch.

Mine had MTS's in their tank. I watched one cray start randomly digging one day and she pulled a MTS out of the sand and started to pick at it to eat what she could get. Then dropped the shell and it never moved again lol.
Basically anything but sand and rock is fair game for food to them
