Fugu is a general term for the puffers eaten in Japan. Which puffer are you asking about?

The closely related Takifugu porphyreus (usually reaching about 40 cm) was found to be mature at at a size of at least 26 (males) - 33 (females) cm. Takifugu obscurus also reaches maturity at quite large sizes. In contrast T. ocellatus were found to be mature at quite small sizes. T. oblongus is likely very similar to first two, though.

Hi,
So it's the size? Not according to age?
They grow more in width at the moment.

Thus, the scope (can i say so?)will be more.

Well, size and age do correlate at least to some extent in nature (at least until maturity). The age of adult wild caught fishes is difficult to determine (e.g. by ear bones), while the size is easily measured. Your puffers are probably mature (my guess).
