I have 2 South American puffers (Colomesus asellus) name swaley and doppy in a 40 gallon tank. Ive had them now for about 5 months. Swarley was always a picky eater and only liked frozen krill but now he hasnt eaten for about almost 2 weeks. Not a teeth issue because i dont see any. LFS worker said it might be an internal parasite. The othe one (doppy) is happy and still eating. Any suggestions?

None at all. They usually would tag team the krill simultaneously. Now he pays no attention to it. Ive noticed a changed in behavior. He used to always come to the glass when he saw me and follow my finger and even poke his head to the surface when he knew it was feeding time. Now he seems kind of timid and reserve when I come to him.

Doing an IP treatment won't hurt in the least, if that is what you suspect it is.

Have you tried different foods? Mine went ga-ga for raw shrimp and blood worms.

Yea I'm going to do the treatment tomorrow after I take out the invertebrates. He used to eat tons of shrimp but he never liked bloodworms or brine shrimp. The other one loves bloodworms. They used to go crazy on ghost shrimp but now theyre just tankmates. Hopefully everything works out with the treatment. He hasnt eaten in a week and a half so I'm keeping my fingers crossed..

I think this should be moved to the hospital section with all questions in red answered
