I am going to try and help defend local community from attack by these rioters who are burning peoples homes. Have already spoken to local cops and they say it is legal to help defend property provided we react in self defence which is good enough for me.

yea its amazing how the police get sued if they strike back. If i get arrested at any point should i sue them for kidnap? Its just madness that no-one is afraid of the british police.

Yeah the police are doing all they can do. If they did anymore some chavvy git would turn around and sue them for using unreasonable force, or something equally stupid.
I commend anyone that stands up to these people. But I don't support the people who have used the riots as an excuse to get involved in violence and criminality (I know this isn't what you're doing, I'm just saying it).

Many of the people that are criticising the police for a lack of force are the same people that have criticised them in the recent past for showing too much force. Our police need a Home Secretary that has the steel to back them to the hilt but unfortunately they have Theresa May who, based on her comments this morning, is clearly out of her depth.

Keep an eye on yourself BW, hopefully you haven't left and have re-thought your decision to go out there, they've got guns and blades. If you're plannning on hurting someone then you've got to realise that you'll be punished far more than the actual thugs when it comes to your court date.

To Stephny691: how many of them idiots do you reckon are building a case right now against heavy handedness? I think that there'll be quite a few...

I just think if the police were able to use force without fear of repercutions this would have been over as it started. The police are enforcers and should be allowed to dish out rough justice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
