I went to my lfs yesterday and they had a baby congo in stock and couldn't resist falling in love with him <3
So I picked up a 29g tank and set it up for him and used the instant bacteria in the bottle way of cycling the tank. I am picking up earthworms today for him, and starting to cure the poor guy of his ip and ick. = [
had a quick question, how much decor do they need? Cause I have the 4 inch sand bed for him, and he has two rock formations and I am throwing in some fake plants today.
here are all the pictures I said I would upload. Thoughts opinions?

minimal decor is fine.........
in fact, minimal decor makes for much easier maintenance (cleaning)
what kind of "bacteria in the bottle" did you use?
do you have test kits?

Hey, I'll upload more pictures when he gets better but I noticed this when he was swimming around. What do you guys think? Do you think I need to start treatment for him?

How do you guys think I should treat it?
Also does him burying in the sand mean that he is content? I was just wondering cause after I put in some more decorations was the first time he fully buried in the sand.

So handsome! Congos are my faves right behind Fahaka's!!! I just got a new Congo myself. He buried for the first time yesterday...they look like little alligators the way their eyes sit on top of the sand. When he's not buried he sleeps on his favorite rock. I posted pics in my thread in freshwater puffers.
