Puffer ID

One of the LFS, has a puffer listed as a juvenile Figure 8 puffer, and they told me they ordered the puffer from AquariumFish.net for a customer that then didn't take it home. I have posted pics of both the figure 8 that I am certain is a fig 8, and the one listed as a Fig 8. I think the second one is actually a SAP, but I'd like clarification on that. Thanks.

Not sure about the first one, except that it is definitely NOT an F8. Second is an F8 with wide stripes.
I do know that many LFS mislabel Ceylons as F8s.

Think number 1 is a ceylon?

Yes, #1 is a Ceylon, 2 is a F8.

Okay. Well, they had number one listed at F8 spotted, and number 2 listed at F8.

I also agree with this. Take a look at the color patterns of identified specimens(as I did when I just first got into puffers) and you can clearly see how the first pic has the F8ish back and the rest of it looks GSPish, classic Ceylon. The second while not a full body pic appears very much like the typical F8.
