Hi all! My name is Chris, and I'm a new GSP owner. As I'm new, I'm looking for any kind of tips anyone might have. I'm still trying to get my tank parameters just right. I have a 35 gallon tank, with one GSP. My filtartion is a fluval 205, and the built in that came with my Hagen Tropiquarium 88. (got the tank 2nd hand, it's since been discontinued. Not sure the specs on the filter, but it seems to put out good flow) I'm sitting on about 60 Nitrates, .5 nitrite that I've been trying to bring down with 20% water changes every other day, 80 deg, 0 ammonia. Currently, my puffer (Klaus), has a white belly, but is starting to turn black. I'm concerned about the nitrites, anyone have any recomendations?

Hi…Chris welcome to this forum. I have heard that many people have tried using filters from discountfilters . Same is the case with even nitrites; their side effects can even cause darkening of puffer’s white belly. The best way to treat them is to bump them up to 50% once or twice a day until the nitrites are under control.

Also make sure you get liquid tests for more accurate readings
