New to the pufferforum

Hello all, just recently finished cycling my 29 gallon with 6 tiger barbs, and saved a GSP from Wal-Mart yesterday. Yes, yes, I am fully aware cycling with fish is frowned upon, but they made it with flying colors and I gave them to my LFS. I'm sure everyone on here is familiar with Wal-Mart's water the little guy was kept in. I plan on going full marine, I'm already taking the steps to go brakish with a mixture sitting next to me lol. He has been in the tank with freshwater for only 24 hours, I plan on doing a 50% water change with the mixture i have at SG 1.004. I am not unfamiliar with the world of puffers, my best friend had a midnight puffer in full-marine, and a 9 inch Golden puffer. We shared a room at the time so I got the privilege to watch him take care of them and learn from him.
My story started off as my girlfriend was badgering me, "can we get a pet?! anything, it doesn't matter! I would be happy with a fish in a bowl!". I quickly answered back with a "no way in hell cause I'm gonna be the one taking care of whatever we get!", but I gave in and we went to Walleyworld to get 2 fish and a bowl. We did the whole shabang, and the next morning one was floating at the top, needless to say my chick was super bummed and the situation needed to be fixed haha. We go back to Wal-Mart, I did a self diagnosis of the untimely death of this PINK barb, and it looks like it was dirty bowl syndrome. So we go back and I start to get excited about the 3 gallons with the filters! Then after we make the decision to get the 3 gallon, I saw one lonely (prob stoked to be alone) GSP in the fish tank. I was like "whoa!? I didn't know there were MINI freshwater puffers!", so I purchased the little guy. Came home and set up the 3 gallon and everything, then did research and boy did I eff up! The GSP was in the 3gal for one day before I went out and bought the tank I have now. I know that you're supposed to introduce a fish to a fully cycled tank, but I figured that he would be better off in the 29 then the 3, he ended up passing the following night.
Then I got the 6 tiger barbs and introduced them to the new 29 gal, and they were stoked and stayed stoked until the tank was cycled. Now Puffy is in the 29gal, and I'm gonna add some 1.004 salt water tonight after it churns for a few hours.
Super amped on this little guy, cannot wait for all the fun times!

Hopefully your GSP will be happy in the tank! Make sure you have plenty of swim room along with plenty of plants to sneak around in
