Ok got a 75 gallon with stand for free the other day. Filled it with water and found that one corner has a leak. Should I strip all the sealant away from that corner and redo it, or can i just put a good amount of sealant over to stuff thats already there?

Best to strip the old sealant away.

I believe the popsicle sticks are for spreading the sealant! Better than using your finger!

chuck .. yes that is 100% correct. The rounded edge mimics the fingertip exactly, or you can shave then down quite easily to make 90 degree angles etc... very useful.

well turns out it wasnt a leak, it was me over filling it and it working its way threw a seem that wasnt intended to hold water lol. My gf made it seem to me that there was a leak running down the side of the tank.

On a even better note, I think she may be leaning to stocking it with DP's. Im thinking 15 or so DP's would be a lot of fun to watch, then 6 months or so down the line add like 6-8 otos

I forget sometimes. PITA, since it's SW & makes a mess of the glass.

thats weird, i think my 10 gallon leaks from the top, too, if i fill it all the way... i usually just leave an inch or so of space at the top so i figured i didnt have to worry about it.
