the oxiclean residue in the filter won't mess with the water once i start using it?

how would i wash with vinegar? just run it through the filter? and does it have to be a specific type of vinegar?

also, powder oxyclean or liquid oxyclean?

I wouldn't mix chemicals like that. There is absolutely no residue with Oxiclean, that's what's so wonderful about that product. When it hits water, it breaks down to oxygen & water.

Yep, a tablespoon will do. Try running the filter with that & some water, to clean the impeller. if it's still encrusted with junk, then rinse & try the vinegar.
