My fahaka has ich!!!!

Just went to feed the guppy tank and noticed they have ich. I told my son and he says look mom Ares has spots too!!! Sure enough...he does. I've had the guppies for about 6 weeks now with no sign of ich. I've been feeding a few to my congo and I decided to give Ares one last week. I started salt treatment on Ares. I'm waiting for p-nut to unbury to get a good look at her...I'm probably just gonna treat anyway. If you all remember several weeks back I lost my SAP's to ich after intense salt treatment. I wad to watch them slowly die over a period of about a week...it really tore me up. If I lose ARES and P-Nut I don't know what I'll do. If Over the next few days Ares looks worse I want to try possible different forms of treatment. What other meds are safe and might work? I want to go ahead and get them ordered so I will have them on hand. It might seem I'm jumping the gun but I am really scared. Please help me.

I just used kordon herbal ich attack on my newly acquired odessa barbs and flag fish.
I set the temperature to 79-80°, dosed the recommended ammount for a 1.5 - 2X dose treatment, so for 75 gallons I dosed 13 or so teaspoons twice a day. I did this and after about 3 to 4 days, the ich was not visible, it did not infect any current residents, and the spots have not returned.
I did not use any salt because it's a planted tank and I have plecos, I did not raise the temperature higher than 80° because the barbs are kind of sensitive to heat.
It smells bad and tints the water brown. It does not require water changes, just do them as normal.
I was very skeptical, but it does work. It's not fast, but it does work. It did not affect my water parameters. If your water is hard, it won't affect the pH.

Most people here say the best way is raise the temp(slowly) up to about 84 iirc and add aquarium salt per instructions. Keep it up for a week or so then slowly lower the temp back down

Title was suppose to say "fahaka". I corrected it. On my phone....it didn't recognize Fahaka and changed it to gala.

Make sure it's the stinky brown herbal kind, not the blue green kind.

I already started salt/heat treatment...with tablesalt. That's what PP told me to use last time. I just want to have other options available if symptoms do not subside in about a week.

I used the herbal stuff instead of salt because I couldn't use salt, just suggesting something that worked for me since her last run of salt treatment did not work.
You'd have to buy a few bottles since you have larger tanks. For the full run I needed 2.
I did also use this in the past on puffers and they showed no bad reaction.

i recently went through this with my fahaka. raised temp and used aquarium salt worked fine. not 100% sure if table salt is the right stuff but someone more qualified will most likely be along soon

Is the stuff you have called Kordon's "ich attack". That's what I have a bottle of and it says it's herbal.

Does anyone know if using that product and salt is safe? If so, that might be an idea.

I had treated my fahaka alittle after I got him with the high temp, salt, and lights off. Jungle Labs Ick Guard 2 is one I have had great success with all my small or scaleless fishes like catfishes, small tetras, and loaches that cleared ick up worries free. It or the Kordon product that seven mentioned would had been my 2nd choice of treatment if all else had failed but the salt, high temp treatment worked so I did not have to go that route. Oh and Ocean Nutrition frozen muti vitamin krill helped also. Boostin their immune systems is a big plus also. So I hope that Kordon treatment helps.
