How do i dose Seachem Prime?

Okay so lately my nitrate and nitrite levels have been through the roof. I was informed to get some Seachem Prime, do a 50% water change, and then add the stuff and that it would bring the levels down. I have a 20 gallon brackish tank for my one green spotted puffer. I already have the 10 gallons of water conditioned and ready for the water change but how should I introduce the prime?? The directions are a bit confusing. Should I add it to the water in my tank after I remove the 10 gallons? Should I add it to the new water that I'm doing the change with?? Should I add it to the tank after the new water is in the tank? And how much should I dose for my high nitrate and nitrite levels? Can you over-dose and if so what are the negative effects?? SO CONFUSED! Someone please help lol

add it to the tank after drawing the 10g out, before adding the new water.

or you can add it to the new water first, mix, then add that to the tank

Okay, should I put in enough for 20 gallons worth? Or just 10 gallons worth?

Add the Prime either to the new water or the tank before adding the new water. For your situation I think you're supposed to do 4-5 times the normal dose.

Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of new water. This removes approximately 1 mg/L ammonia, 4 mg/L chloramine, or 5 mg/L chlorine. For smaller doses, please note each cap thread is approx. 1 mL. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume.

How are these instructions difficult?

Not to sound like an idiot but should I do 4-5 times the normal dose for 10 gallons (the water that will be left in the tank) or for 20 gallons (the amount of water that will end up in the tank)??

for the 10 gal that is left. The new water doesn't contain nitrites and nitrates.

The titles in all caps with multiple punctuation marks are obnoxious and unnecessary.

Sorry man...I'm new to this site and didn't think I'd get as many responses if I wasn't "obnoxious" with the all caps and punctuation. I won't do it again

Thank you for agreeing to be more polite. You never get anywhere good by being obnoxious.

There's a lot of good people here who are more likely to help the more polite you are ;) It's true, I know I'm that way. We'll help regardless but it's nicer when everyone is polite :)

LOL, it's considered YELLING, anywhere on the net.
As far as the Prime--if you are just using to dechlorinate, then one drop/g is sufficient. If dosing the mixing water, add enough for the new water. If dosing the tank, add enough for the entire volume of the tank.
