hi everyone!

was at a lfs yesterday and they had these 3 great looking puffers for sale labeled as 'red puffers' . . .

i think one of them is a congo, but would like to know the other 2.





please let me know!

Oh wow those Congo's are really nice. That middle pic of the redish one is the one I would pic in a heart beat if you have the set-up .

yea the red one is beautiful! i've thought about getting one but...my substrate isn't suitable for their needs
besides i have 2 wonderful abe's puffer in there right now.

one thing that made it easy not to get was their $60 asking price 0_0

Well from what I heard, Congo's are alittle pricey. So you could be paying alittle more for them and if you see one. You might not beable to find one again or for awhile. If you order one from the internet then you would be paying that price or more with shipping. So to me it's a deal mainly for that red one because you dont or wont see them that color on an average. Many people would kill for that red one and probley pay that price because someone will and mainly that red one wont be there very long.

yeah they can be pricey, depending on time of year and availability in your area i would guess. a congo is on my list that i would like to get. and yeah that second one is a really nice looking one. it would be between the marble coloration in the first pic and the red in the second. both my favorite colors/patterns in a congo

yes, i believe it took PP 5 years to find her red one she wanted

where are these located?

Locally, they wanted to charge me $200 for a red one. It took me 4 years to find one in TX I could afford & have it shipped. $50 + shipping.

oh yea and would eco complete and fine gravel mix substrate work for congos? or do they have to be in sand? can't imagine they'd be in a freshwater area in the wild, with 100% sand.. ?

sand would be best, since they love to bury.
