would a coral catshark get along with a golden arathon puffer? I don't really want either fish but just curious as to whether it can be done

I don't think anyone here has ever tried this.

I'd say try it out if you really wanted to, just keep a close eye and a back up tank on hand!

Also make sure its a large tank because those catsharks get big 3'+ I believe, so they need room.

NO This would not work for the same reason you cant keep rays and puffers in the same tank! The shark you spoke of is a bottom dweller just like sting rays and puffers are prone to to nipping bottom dwellers eyes and appendages (fins etc) so it will only end in horror I am afraid...

Besides which, SFAIK sharks are immune to puffer toxins and consider puffers just another food item.

That's true, groupers too. I'm sure there's exceptions to everything though in one way or another.

I had a New Guina puffer in with my catshark for about a month while my pond was taken down during construction. It was only for a short time but I had no problems. The puffer is now in my dads tank with bamboo sharks. Some people also have problems with the puffer picking at the sharks. There is some risk involved.

I have a bamboo shark and a stars and stripes puffer in the same tank. Its working so fare, but the shark is still small (6 months) . Its also worth saying that the shark was born in the tank with the puffer inside, so they have been hanging out the entire shark life

How large is the tank?
