well I have heard of people keeping them with bumblebees but aren't those hard to keep?

I did kept BBG with mine F8.

Some members here had no luck with any tank mates, so it would be up to your puffer.

i successfully kept bbgs for a long time and even tho they were in fw (my bad didnt research) they were easy. truly great little guys , in the correct conditions they should be great if they are good stock

How big is the tank? They pretty much eat whatever leftovers the puffer leaves, as they are messy eaters.

should be about 20 gallons. I am currently planning the layout, position in my room, inhabitants, aquascaping, ect.

definitely BBGs. I have quite a few of them. They arent hard to keep at all. I find that they eat the bloodworms along with the puffers, and they feed on shrimp too. The puffers wont mess with them. F8s, anyway. Unless of course you starve them, Im sure if the F8s are really hungry they will eat whatever they can find. I also have heard that mollies are good tankmates, balloon mollies some people say. I have some regular mollies, but they are still small and juvenile and they already fight with the puffers over food. When I say fight, its like tug-of-war. Full-grown mollies may bully your puffers, but I cant imagine that fish smaller than your puffers would. Its worth a try, anyway. Just dont get involved in incorporating too many species in your tank. I made that mistake!
