Here is a video of Homer eating an electric blue crayfish. Expensive meal but they were free to me and the pair hasn't done anything for me and I need their tank to breed snails so they are becoming his meal. I breed enough marbles in a 55g to keep Homer happy but was hoping the electric blues where gonna breed for me as they do get bigger. Then again the marbles don't like to eat each other so I think I am better off just sticking with the marbles. I figure Homer is pushing around 14" now. Excuse the dirty glass but ever since I moved him outta my garage and upstairs to the living room in front of the window it is getting dirtier alot faster so need to get a background on the tank to block out the sun. Anyways enough of me talking and now for the vid, enjoy

Strike! Ah I love how they hunt that was a really pretty crayfish! And I bet it was tasty too hehe.

gonna get one of those for my fahaka just a little scared it might fight back too much lol. certain it wont stand a chance tho hes a vicious beggar with his food

I had one fight back a few weeks back, but when he decided to fight back he was already in Bloats mouth. Bloat freaked out a bit and swam around shaking like crazy till he was able to get the crayfish out, then collected himself and attacked it from above and grabbed it like Homer did LOL

id wait at least a week. Also during that time you can feed it what you want and gut load it so its full of nutrients for your puff

They love them some blood worms, I also feed mine the left overs from Bloats meals, and algae wafers

Bloat has leftovers??? Lol! Ares never has leftovers...I think be would eat nonstop, all day if I would let him...lol!

Wow he is a big fellow. My fahaka (Stripes) will eat all the tiny shell fragments too..lol. Try asking around at local baitshops for live crayfishes if you want to add more crayfish to his diet.
