He is in hypo for ich. Had Puffer Queen been helping you at all? You really need her help.

Don't know if this is similar (I hope not) but this is what my GSP looked like a day or 2 before he died - never found out the cause & the other one in the tank was fine (& still is). I really hope you can get some help with your little guy.

thanks for pic, It does look similar and i have little hope he will survive especially as ive lost two fish yesterday with strange skin problems however i have a yellow tang left in the same tank who seems absolutely fine. so im not sure if this has been contagious and from the other fish if my tangs fine, i just hope we can get to the bottom of the this and work out the cause. not that i didnt care about the other fish im obviously gutted about them, but this is going to be a huge blow to lose this little guy as sad as it sounds ive spent everyday for the last 9-10 months checking on him and hes a proper little character they just aren't like fish.

Looks like a heavy bacterial infection, likely Vibrio spp.
Antibiotics would be a possible treatment, but - sorry to say - this looks and sounds as being too late.

Its never too late! raise the salinity back to original levels (to reduce stress), and start treating him with Melafix for the possible bacterial infection. Is he still eating?

Oh and Hypo will not do crap for your puffer and his ICH I have tried that method a million times, its much easier to either treat with copper or install a UV / Ozone to wipe the WS out. I think as of now you have more important things to worry about than whitespot! So you should treat his new complications first before worrying about any crypto, as it seems your over-diagnosing and therefore complicating the situation. Hence raising his stress levels, stressed puffers never fair well. So get your water back upto peak quality and SG, and treat for his belly / face infection! If hes eating he will pull thru

If it's for ich, try using copper treatments. My GSP had ich in the beggining, after treating with copper for a month, he's been healthy.

At this point, I'd try anything. Be sure not to use copper in hypo!!!

Melafix won't help with Vibrio... If you want to try antibiotics go for Maracyn 2.
