I know that prices differ depending on region and demand but is 12.99 each a good price for a DP?

I got mine for around $4. But I would give $13 if they were young healthy adults. In other words if they weren't the size of a pea like mine were...And if they were nearly full grown but not fully mature. Also, $13 is a pretty high price and it would be the absolute max I would pay.

ya, i think its over priced. Plus I dont want adults, I want babies so I can watch them grow and mature

Yeah, same here around $4 but you can find $10 - $15 in some stores

wow! seriously? I have never seen them cost more than $4! A store in Sacramento sells them for $2.

Ya seriously that is what she charges.......Now im debating between congo or DP's...... I set the tank up for congo, deep sand bed a few plants, dw, and a rock to hide under.

$3-$6 around here. I paid $24 for my Congo. Another store I frequent sells Congo's for $75...AND I ALMOST BOUGHT IT!!!! The "new" store I have found has been there since the 1960's. The owner told me they have been using the same distributers for 40+ years so she gets goods prices that she can pash to her customers.

the lfs i frequent has them for sale at around 3.99, but i could get them for 2.99 if i asked
