snails!

sorry if this is in the wrong forum

i have a 60gal FW tank with my gsp in it.
I am planning on starting to add salt this weeknd.
i try to feed him some pond snails atleast a few times a week
a few weeks ago i notices a few coming out of one of my filter inlets.
Didnt thnk it would be a problem, accually thought it might save me from getting snails from LPS
all the time. Fastforward a few weeks and and within a few days of noticing a increase i can literaly
see 30-40 snails without trying to look for them. Gizmo dosnt seem to be paying any attention to them, normaly he goes nuts for snails.Im worried this could become a major problem. my tank has no live plants , everything either plastic or silk.

Will adding the salt with my weekly WC kill off the snails within a few weeks?
should i try not feeding him for a few days and see if he will start to bring the snails under
control himself. ( dont thinks thats possiable at this point though, to many, also i see a bunch of small clear egg sacks
with white dots in them)
im also worried that once he starts eating them he might over do it. Happen before when i put to many in, all of them were goin in a few minutes.

any advice would be great . never delt with snails before.

thankx

P.S as far as i can tell they are normal pond snails you get from buying plants at LPS

They may be too small right now for him to bother with. I'm not sure what SG will kill them but eventually it will.

Mhm, if they're too small he may not see them as food yet. Fasting for a couple days is a good idea. How large are the snails compared to him?

90% of the snails that are visable are adult size , same size as i feed him normaly
aprox the size of his eye or a little smaller. Gizmo is about 2 - 2 1/2 in
im really clueless as to why he pays them no mind, and that after having this tank up for 5+ months with regular snail feedings they just all the sudden infest now
can alittle leftover food not taken out of tank be part of the cause

I have been experiencing a boom myself I just trap and remove. Remember when the salt does kill them I would expect the corpses to affect your water quality so keep a close eye and remove visible snail eggs to keep population of small snails down I wish I had done this from the start

Rubberband a piece of cucumber or zucchini to a rock & pull them all out on there in the morning. I'd start raising them elsewhere though.
