I have a leather type coral on a piece of rock, that up untill yesterday looked all pink & healthy. Today, it looks small & blue/green coloured. I don't much like the leather corals, it just came with the nice rock, so I am not majorly upset if it has died. More concerned about why? I also have some mushrooms, zoas, frogspawn & a single finger coral - they all look ok.
Any suggestions? Also, should I remove it or leave it?

Leathers do that sometimes. They are moody corals. It may be getting ready to shed.

SOOO much to learn - I didn't even know they could shed! Ok, well I guess I wont touch it yet. See what happens.

Well, just an update. The coral shrank to about quarter of its normal size & changed to several different shades of greens & blues. Last night it had some white stuff sort of coming off it (I thought that maybe it had definitely died & was rotting & was going to remove it today). But it is bigger today (not so shrivelled) & is a healthier looking colour. It also has small white nodules appearing - not like a disease, they are evenly spaced spots. So, I will give it some more time & hopefully it will be restored to its former glory! (Thanks PP, for having me wait a little!).

Yup, that was it shedding, so it can grow (like a snake). The nodules are polyps!
