It doesn't bite but is a very aggressive coral. Nothing can live near it.

I don't know squat about corals except that they sure are purty. Do corals have a powerful enough sting to sting a person?

Fire coral certainly does! I've also had blisters from cleaning out my overflow, where a bunch of aptasia reside. Then there's palytoxin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palytoxin

I know carpet anemones has a nasty sting. I had a good size one once that I sold it to a good friend of mine. Well when I remove it, it latched on to the back of my hand and gave me a very nasty sting. Huge large red rash that it left behind felt like a really bad sunburn.

Well, palytoxin sounds wicked, heheh. Where does that come from in an aquarium?

It comes from zoanthids & palyotha. The giant protopalys are the worse!

So they sting you with it, then? Or would you have to eat one, like tetrodox from a pufferfish?
