If you have an Ikea...

....these are awesome to use as moonlights! I just bought a strip today for my 110gallon and they look awesome! The controller you see allows you to change it to all the colors you see. For some reason though when we changed it to red Ares flipped out, shot across his tank and slammed the glass with his beak...that def. Was not cool. They are a bit pricey but the cheapest option I have found to meet my needs thus far. There are a lot of LED's on the strip. It can easily be cut for a smaller tank as well. We laid it on top of our 30 gallon and it looked amazing as well! I don't feel well right now but when I do I will get some pics!

These are cool as well, but would be better for a smaller tank.

I think a lot of us have observed our puffers hating the color red. Interesting...

My Fahaka also hates bright colors, cant really tell if it are all bright colors or only red.

When i need to feed Kaya and i wear a red or bright color shirt (which i often do) she grabs the first piece and then darts away with it, only to come out again to grab the rest when im further away from the tank.

Now we have her for a while she starts to adjust for it and doesnt go away anymore when im just looking, but still gets spooked faster when i make a sudden movement.

My dwarfs have no color issues at all they are begging for food as soon as they think im looking.

We have been thinking about the led lights u showed but we werent sure if they are waterspat tight. if we would buy them we would go for the blue ones because of the night idea.

LEDs can be awfully intense. Puffers tend to relatively large eyes, and do use special coatings for some light colntrol, but it is not as variable as the techniques land animals use, Sudden on/off shifts can easily terrify them, and I do agree that they seem to not like certain bright colors from lights, or even from clothes on their keepers or visitors.

Some humans have issues with LED lights also - namely me. There are no LED holiday lights in my house. They blind me.

Ours hate red, especially Feight. She'll hide and won't come out. Won't eat if you wear pink. Loves greens and browns though :P

We got it for the blues as well. Just so happens it's changes to all the colors on the switch. The only solid color they carry is white. Tonight we bought some small halogen puck lights from home depot to replace the fluorescent shop lights on his tank...hope they look good!
