At the moment my tank is at SG 1.023... what is a good SG for a FOWLR set up? I'm new to saltwater.

Seems to me like your SG is fine as is...best would be in between 1.020 and 1.024 i think

That's about right. For a reef it's 1.026 but if no corals, you can go as low as 1.020.

It also depends on what is being kept in the tank, as already stated a reef tank need more salt(1.026), an average FO tank is fin with 1.020-1.024.
A tank with a (Adult)GSP, from what I've heard, should be at (1.020-1.022) as an ideal range. It really depends though.

I put fin instead of fine, but I suppose sense this is a fish site that works.
